Viticulture in Vinsobres is a tradition stretching back to Roman times, nurtured on sun-kissed lands dotted with centuries-old olive trees and lavender fields. Two millennia of history, expertise, and passion give the wines of this region their distinctive character.
Sheltered by the Mistral winds, these varied landscapes share a common identity. At the heart of the Baronnies Provençales, our vineyards stretch across 1,850 hectares, spanning Vinsobres, Mirabel-aux-Baronnies, Piégon, Nyons, and Venterol.
Through every vintage, La Vinsobraise weaves a collective story—a heritage of skill, passion, and collaboration passed from one generation to the next.
VINZOBRIO, An ancient name for Vinsobres, it carries within it the legacy of two pre-Celtic roots — a timeless echo of the land’s rich history.
Vintio, which means ‘height,’ reflects the village’s lofty perch, while Briga, meaning ‘mountain,’ celebrates the majestic terrain of Provence’s Baronnies.
VINSobraise + IO = VINSIO
Why VINSIO?
To carry our wines beyond our hills, we created VINSIO, a name rooted in two pre-Celtic words: “Vintio“ for height, and “Briga“ for mountain.
These ancient roots reflect our elevated slopes, where sun, cool breezes, and diverse soils converge to shape the distinctive power and character of our wines.
This brand embodies our winemakers’ dedication—to honoring their craft, preserving their heritage, and elevating our appellations, all while embracing the evolving world around us.
It is a reflection of who we are: high-altitude winemakers, devoted to the strength of our terroir and the individuality of each cuvée.
We are a cooperative—a collective of men and women united by a shared mission: to create wines that are faithful to their terroir and respectful of nature.
70% of our vineyards are certified HVE (High Environmental Value), and 10% are organically farmed, ensuring that the quality of our wines goes hand in hand with responsibility and sustainability.
Cradled between plains and foothills, our vines flourish across a mosaic of soils: clay-limestone, schist, clay, and stony terrains—each rich, balanced, and unique.
Lavender fields, truffle groves, and orchards surround the vineyards, nurturing biodiversity that infuses life and character into every bottle.
